JOBS FOR 15 YEAR OLDS THAT GIVE EXPERIENCE

If you are a teen looking for jobs for 15 year olds, you really have two options. The first is to try to find some work in your neighborhood from someone who needs something done in their yard or around the house. The second option is to find a real job with a company where you get a real paycheck.

Many teens and 15 year olds try to earn extra money by getting part time jobs and doing chores for neighbors. This would include, mowing lawns, babysitting, weeding gardens, raking leaves, washing cars and so on. These are not real jobs but just ways to earn some money by doing things that your neighbors are willing to pay to have someone do. Most teens do some of this kind of work at one point or another.

This kind of work can be included on a resume or list of work experience but it isn’t as good as getting a real job. Employers love to see real work experience where you showed responsibility and had specific tasks to do. They like to see that you had a work schedule, showed up on time, and were able to take orders. This kind of job experience you would only be able to get from a real company that hires you.

Finding a real job with an employer is a big step up from doing yard work for a neighbor. Around the ages of 15 or 16, some companies are willing to take a chance and hire someone in that age group to do a specific job. If you are fortunate to get this kind of real job, you will be able to proudly display that work experience on your resume and have it count towards your credibility. Of course, if a company hires you, it is smart to make sure you do show up on time, are responsible, and do a good job.

Jobs for 15 year olds are harder to get than jobs for 16 year olds and higher. This is because 15 is usually the fist time a teen will have looked for a job and it will be their very first experience. Additionally they can’t drive and are less mature than older teens.
